More framed work




I fell upon an interesting way to frame my art work. It's too long a story but let's just call it kismet.


I start with 1.5" thick Styrofoam. I cover it in flannel.


I iron the piece


and attach it to the flannel covered Styrofoam.





Then I make a frame. The piece above is framed in Natural pine and the piece below is getting it's frame painted black.

  1. I do like the result... just a few questions if you are willing to share more. How is the flannel attached to the foam? How is the fabric attached to the flannel covered foam? How is the wood attached to the fabric/flannel/foam? What is the hanging system and how is that attached? Are the wood corners lapped or mitered? How do you cut the foam to exact size?
