Good Golly Miss Dolly

This was kind of a fun thing and really just a lark. Who could take that doll's face seriously!

I used some dyed wool batting to make sleeves with blanket stitching and beads. I happened to come across this piece of dyed burlap scrap and wound it around the twig to make a body.

Olive and purple - my favorites. I made a coat out of this piece of dyed wool batting and created lapels with a button. I blanket stitched the coat closed.

I made some mad hair and glued it to her head with Elmer's.

Cute hair!

I later thought better of it and removed the stitching on the coat, replacing it with buttons and a Sari yarn "belt".

I am woman, hear me roar!!

  1. How fun! I haven't played with dolls for years, but remember making clothes out of grandma's quilt stash. And I have not played with clay much, but I'm intrigued... may have to add this to my list of things to try!
